As part of its ongoing efforts to support education and uplift vulnerable communities, the Comrade Amitolu Shittu Foundation (CASF), led by renowned human rights, environmental, and anti-corruption activist Comrade Amitolu Shittu, has empowered students and disadvantaged individuals across all 30 Local Government Areas of Osun State.

The initiative, which coincided with Shittu’s 61st birthday, included scholarships for indigent students from various tertiary institutions across the Southwest of Nigeria. In addition to education support, the foundation provided assistance to other vulnerable groups, aiming to ease financial burdens and promote social inclusion.

Speaking during the event held in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, Shittu highlighted that the foundation has been actively contributing to society since he turned 40, focusing on education, community development, and empowerment of the less privileged.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, noting that the support would significantly enhance their educational pursuits and overall well-being. Many also prayed for Shittu’s continued longevity and the ongoing impact of the foundation.

The program underscores the role of foundations and civil society organizations in addressing social inequalities and creating opportunities for youth and vulnerable populations, reinforcing the importance of grassroots empowerment in Nigeria.
