In a significant step to boost tech collaborations between France and Nigeria, the Regional Economic Service (SER) of Lagos, with support from Expertise France, is hosting a two-day French Tech Bootcamp from October 15 to 16, 2024. The initiative seeks to bridge the digital ecosystems of both countries through knowledge exchange and strategic partnerships.
The SER, representing the French government’s economic interests in Nigeria, has been instrumental in fostering bilateral relations, particularly in technology. This Bootcamp aims to facilitate partnerships between French and Nigerian companies, driving innovation and sustainable economic growth.
French Tech Lagos, part of the global La Mission French Tech initiative, is at the heart of this event. The community promotes French innovation and connects tech ecosystems globally. Under the theme “Tech4Good,” this year’s Bootcamp will explore the impact of artificial intelligence on business models and its role in addressing societal challenges.
Attendees will benefit from expert-led sessions, networking opportunities, and collaborative discussions. Nicolas Colin, co-founder of The Family, will speak on entrepreneurship and innovation, while Julie Lanckriet-Goerig, COO of the Emerging Valley Summit, will offer insights into supporting impact-driven startups in Africa.
This event builds on the momentum from the Vivatech exhibition in Paris, where a delegation of Nigerian tech leaders engaged with the French tech ecosystem. The Lagos Bootcamp marks another milestone in deepening tech partnerships between the two nations, fostering long-term innovation and collaboration.
