Grooming Endowment Trust (GET) has empowered 15 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across various sectors with ₦13 million in grants to enhance their business operations and drive growth. This initiative, under the GET Compass program, aims to foster entrepreneurship and sustainable development among African businesses.
The selected SMEs also participated in a two-week intensive business workshop and advisory sessions, facilitated by the Centre for Research in Enterprise and Action in Management (CREM). These sessions focused on strategies for business growth and long-term sustainability.
At the GET Compass award ceremony in Lagos, GET Board of Trustees member Nnaemeka Nwachukwu emphasized the Trust’s commitment to providing not just funding but also a supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurs. “Beyond grants, we offer a nurturing environment where businesses can collaborate, grow, and thrive,” he said.
Michael Adoghe, Operations Manager of GET Compass, highlighted the Trust’s ongoing efforts through various initiatives like the GET Accelerated Program for startups and the Teacher’s Appreciation Program. “Since the inception of GET Compass, we’ve supported 26 SMEs. This year, the top five winners received ₦2 million each, while 10 others received ₦300,000 to strengthen their value chains,” Adoghe added.
The 3rd edition of the GET Compass program saw SMEs from diverse sectors, including education and clean energy, receiving support. As GET continues its mission to uplift African entrepreneurs, the Trust looks forward to empowering even more SMEs in the future.
This initiative further cements GET’s role in advancing financial inclusion and sustainable economic growth in Africa.
