Global Hiring Startup, Deel, Opens Shop in Nigeria

Deel, a United States technology start-up valued at $1.2billion,  at the weekend, opened shop in Nigeria as its headquarters in the sub-region as it moves to expand its services to other parts of the continent.

Its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Alex Bouaziz, said the country is strategic to the firm’s expansion drive because of its rich and highly talented human capital.

“Nigeria is a key market for Deel. There are tons of talented people and notable companies building world-changing products there. We are also starting to see great investors sweeping in and allocating funding to focus specifically on Nigeria and surrounding territories. The boom is coming,” he said during a conference call in Lagos.

He said the all-in-one platform to hire and pay anyone anywhere, present in 150 countries continued to grow the global remote workforce now accelerated by the pandemic, companies have realised they need the right tools to continue to scale which is Deel which bridges localised compliance and payments automatically.
