An Ikorodu-based IT hub, Creative Digital Technologies in Agric, has trained youths with disabilities and children from orphanage homes in digital skills under the Youth Day of Service initiative of LEAP Africa.
Founder of the centre, Idris Adegbite, said the five-week programme equips participants with skills in artificial intelligence, content writing, graphic design, video editing, social media management, and YouTube monetisation. A special stream also introduces schoolchildren to web design, robotics, app and game development.
Adegbite explained that the project aims to empower vulnerable groups with 21st-century skills while building confidence and leadership capacity.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the opportunity. Aderemilekun Moyosore Oluwo described the experience as transformative, while hairdresser Motunrayo Ibe said she had gained video editing and image creation skills.
Rev. Mother Osinachi Becky Nzenwa, founder of the Holy Name Missionary Rehabilitation Home, praised the programme, calling it impactful and timely for disadvantaged children in Ikorodu.
