Kidpreneur Africa, a children-focused social enterprise, showcased the entrepreneurial prowess of Nigerian children aged 6 – 15 through its annual KidBiz Fair across three cities. Over 80 children presented their innovative works, while 700 young minds actively participated in the event.
The fair, held in Port Harcourt, Lagos, and Abuja, featured workshops, competitions, and masterclasses aiming to nurture entrepreneurship and environmental consciousness among youngsters.
Juliet Vincet-Obi, the Founder of Kidpreneur Africa, highlighted the fair’s goal to provide a platform for children who completed their Business Class to exhibit their products and services, fostering entrepreneurial skills and environmental awareness.
Preceding the fair, children received training in diverse areas like bead making, artwork, snacks and juice production, fashion design, sales, marketing, branding, and financial literacy.
Parents lauded the initiative, emphasizing the positive impact on their children’s entrepreneurial zeal. Winners of the Business Pitch competition, like Harvard Mbadiwe, gained confidence and belief in their capabilities.
Temitope Okunnu, from Fabe International and Eco School Nigeria, praised the budding child CEOs for their innovative solutions to local challenges, applauding Kidpreneur Africa’s role in nurturing young minds.
Parents like Adekumbo Omotoso appreciated the organization’s efforts in fostering financial literacy and instilling enthusiasm in young minds to plan for the future.
Looking ahead, Kidpreneur Africa plans a diaspora Kidpreneur conference in the USA and the Africa Kidpreneur Summit in Botswana, slated for April and August 2024, respectively. These events aim to further empower and educate young African entrepreneurs globally.
