LAPO Microfinance Bank Recognized for Exceptional Impact on MSMEs at DBN Awards

LAPO Microfinance Bank Limited (LAPO MFB) has once again affirmed its leadership in the microfinance sector, receiving top honors at the 4th edition of the Service Ambassadors Award organized by the Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN). The event, held at the Civic Centre in Lagos, celebrated financial institutions that have demonstrated exceptional service and made a significant impact on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Nigeria.

LAPO MFB was honored with the DBN MFB Award for the Highest Impact on MSMEs in Nigeria, reflecting the bank’s substantial contributions to the economic empowerment of small businesses in DBN focus states. This recognition highlights LAPO MFB’s dedication to providing vital financial support that drives economic growth and development nationwide.

Additionally, LAPO MFB was recognized with the DBN MFB Award for the Highest Impact on the South-South Zone, celebrating the bank’s outstanding efforts in promoting economic development and financial inclusion in the South-South region of Nigeria. This award underscores the bank’s commitment to fostering sustainable economic growth in underserved areas.

Tony Okpanachi, Managing Director/CEO of the Development Bank of Nigeria, praised LAPO MFB for its innovative approach to MSME financing and its unwavering commitment to sustainable development. “We are proud to recognize LAPO Microfinance Bank for its outstanding contributions to the MSME sector in Nigeria. Their efforts have not only supported the growth of small businesses but have also significantly impacted the economic development of focus states and regions across the country,” Okpanachi said.

Oluremi Akande, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at LAPO Microfinance Bank, expressed gratitude for the awards and reiterated the bank’s mission to empower economically underserved communities. “We are proud to receive these awards from the Development Bank of Nigeria. These awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as our relentless pursuit of excellence in providing financial solutions that meet the needs of underserved communities. We will continue to drive innovation and expand our reach to uplift more Nigerians out of poverty,” Akande remarked.

These accolades further solidify LAPO MFB’s position as a key player in the microfinance industry, demonstrating its commitment to fostering economic empowerment and financial inclusion across Nigeria.
