Leapworld, a business development service provider in collaboration with the United States African Development Foundation (USADF) and Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), has successfully graduated 150 youths in Lagos. The graduation ceremony, held at the American Corner in Ikeja, Lagos, emphasized the importance of the youths utilizing the acquired skills to contribute to organizational growth.
Mrs. Funke Medun, the Managing Consultant of Leapworld, urged the graduates to concentrate on self-improvement and become examples for others to follow. She highlighted the significance of the changes desired in society starting with the skills and knowledge imparted to the youth. Mrs. Medun revealed the continuation of the project with another grant cycle targeting 340 beneficiaries.
The employability program undertaken by Leapworld aims to build capacity for youths, providing them with skills for employment and entrepreneurship. The six-week training focused on digital marketing and office administration skills, equipping the graduates to contribute effectively to various organizations.
Testimonies from the graduates, such as Akeem Elewuro and Uge Gift, emphasized the impactful nature of the training. Elewuro acknowledged the development of skills related to organizational structure, communication, and dedication to service. Gift expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn digital marketing and office administration, enabling her to stand out and face the world confidently.
Leapworld operates as a business development service provider for MSMEs under the Growth Employment (GEM) project funded by the World Bank and supported by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment. The initiative aims to empower youths with practical skills, fostering both employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
