The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) with the support of the Pro-Poor Growth and Promotion of Employment (SEDIN) programme of the German Development Agency (GIZ) have launched business entry guides to facilitate access to information for intending and existing entrepreneurs in Lagos State.
The booklet would also contain significant business requirements in a single document and accessible manner, according to a statement signed by LSETF and GIZ-SEDIN.
According to the statement, business owners in the poultry, fashion, and recycling industries received training on how to launch and grow their enterprises.
Director, Strategy, Funding and Stakeholder Management, LSETF, Ojei Sheila, said, “In line with this objective, GIZ SEDIN, a programme with the overall objective to improve the employment and income situation of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, and LSETF, an MSMEs support and employment promotion agency of Lagos State, contracted FATE Foundation to gather, co-create and sensitise MSMEs in the state on important regulations affecting their business operations as well as other relevant information regarding entry, start-up costs, available funding options, business associations, cooperatives, and markets for products or services in select sectors as well as relevant information on support and opportunities for returning migrants and women entrepreneurs in Lagos State.’’
Also speaking, Managing Director, the Lagos Waste Management Authority, Mr Ibrahim Odumboni, advised recyclers and pickers to formalise their business process.
He said, “The Business Entry Guides encourages entrepreneurs to be formal in all their business endeavours as it guarantees them more value if they are formal.”
