The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) is pleased to announce the official launch of its Volunteer Network Programme. As a social impact agency established by the Lagos State Government to combat unemployment in the State, LSETF aims to create a network of dedicated professionals who share the organisation’s vision and are eager to contribute significantly to achieving its objectives. Through the program, the volunteers will contribute to the organisation’s interventions in the following capacities (but not limited to): training facilitation, mentorship & coaching support, field engagement research, programme evaluation/assessment and others as needed.
Volunteers were carefully selected through a rigorous screening and assessment following a call for applications. Out of over 500 applications received, only 41 got shortlisted and were formally onboarded into the volunteer network programme during the launch event held on the 16th of June, 2023. At the event, the volunteers received a briefing on the code of conduct policy, volunteer-beneficiary mapping, and an activity scheduling calendar.
Expressing confidence and optimism for the program, Sheila Ojei, Director, Strategy, Funding and Stakeholder Management at LSETF, stated, “The launch of the volunteer network programme signifies a significant milestone in our journey at the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund. Social impact thrives on collaboration, and we firmly believe that our partnership with the newly onboarded volunteers will enhance our ability to fulfil our mandate and generate remarkable change in Lagos State.”
Echoing enthusiasm for the program, Lead Coach, Omu Consulting Limited, Omu Obilor, a volunteer, remarked, “As a passionate advocate for social impact initiatives, I have long admired LSETF’s approach to wealth and job creation in Lagos State. I am excited to impact and drive change alongside the Fund positively. I commend them for establishing this platform.”
The Volunteer Network Programme targets Lagos residents, business/career professionals with 3 to 8 years of experience in their respective fields, and outstanding business owners who have demonstrated integrity and involvement in social impact initiatives. Interested individuals can apply for the volunteer network once a year between Q1 and Q2.
