MRDC Launches International Labour Organization-SIYB Program to Empower Entrepreneurs

The Masterpiece Resource Development Centre (MRDC) has introduced the International Labour Organisation-SIYB program with the aim of empowering 120 aspiring entrepreneurs. The unveiling ceremony of the ILO-SIYB took place at the MRDC office in Lagos.

In his welcome address, Mr. Abiola Popoola, the Chairman of the Board of MRDC, highlighted the center’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs to accelerate national development. He emphasized the importance of equipping entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills necessary for success.

Mrs. Modupe Oyekunle, the founder and CEO of MRDC, reiterated the center’s mandate to train entrepreneurs annually, from startups to scale-ups, through a network of mentors and sponsors. She announced that the 120 aspiring entrepreneurs would receive funding from mentors and Providus Bank upon completing the training.

Oyekunle also mentioned that 12 ILO-SIYB master trainers had been trained to train aspiring entrepreneurs, emphasizing the streamlined approach of the program.

Noruwa Edokopolo, a Master Trainer and member of the MRDC board highlighted the impact of the ILO-SIYB program, which has helped millions of entrepreneurs worldwide.

Ernest Elue, Head of Strategy and Business Development at Providus Bank expressed the bank’s pleasure in partnering with MRDC to empower entrepreneurs and train trainers through the ILO-SIYB programme.

The initiative aims to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills, resources, and support needed to succeed in their ventures, contributing to economic growth and development.
