The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have launched a joint training program aimed at improving cargo clearing efficiency, an initiative expected to benefit small and medium enterprise (SME) logistics operators.
Through the Apapa Area Command, personnel of NAF’s 643 Equipment Supply Depot were trained on updated clearing procedures and the use of the B’ODOGWU portal, a digital system designed to accelerate goods processing.
By streamlining customs operations, the initiative is expected to deliver faster, more transparent clearance, which could reduce delivery times and lower costs for businesses. For SMEs engaged in defense-related logistics—such as suppliers, contractors, and service providers- this development could also unlock new opportunities in supplying mission-critical equipment.
The collaboration highlights a growing push for digital transformation and inter-agency efficiency in Nigeria’s trade and logistics ecosystem. With faster customs processing, SMEs in the logistics value chain stand to gain a stronger competitive edge, while government agencies benefit from enhanced operational transparency.
