The National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) has launched the Renewed Hope Women and Youth Empowerment Programme in Oba-Oke, Olorunda Local Government Area of Osun State, offering critical support to poultry farmers.
Under the initiative, each beneficiary received two poultry cages, twenty three-week-old birds, and four bags of premium feed. The programme is designed to generate quick income, as designated off-takers are expected to purchase the mature birds within three to four weeks.
Speaking at the event, NALDA’s Executive Secretary, Cornelius Adebayo, said the programme aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s vision to build a strong middle economic class. He described the project as a revolving poultry production model, intended to create sustainable income streams and expand local wealth.
According to Adebayo, profits from the sale of the birds will be shared among NALDA, the farmers, and the community. This structure is aimed at fostering a cycle of reinvestment and broader participation.
He further highlighted NALDA’s broader agricultural development strategy, which includes land preparation, marketing, storage, and nationwide partnerships to support farmers.
Adebayo encouraged beneficiaries to adhere strictly to the programme’s guidelines to ensure its success and emphasized that the initiative would steadily expand across Osun State and other parts of the country.
