NASENI and Nasarawa State Govt to Establish Tractor Manufacturing Plant
Share

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and the Nasarawa State government are set to launch a tractor manufacturing plant in Lafia, the state capital, in collaboration with a division of Saint Bob Motors Limited.

According to a statement by NASENI’s Director of Information, Segun Ayeoyenikan, the project aims to create wealth and job opportunities for Nigerian youths, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for food security and mechanized farming.

NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Khalil Halilu, expressed readiness to partner with the state, assuring Governor Abdulahi Sule during a visit to NASENI’s headquarters in Abuja that the agency is prepared to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the project.

Governor Sule emphasized his support for promoting made-in-Nigeria goods and providing a conducive environment for businesses to thrive. He introduced Bob Track Tractors to NASENI, proposing the utilization of existing facilities at Amedi, Lafia, for tractor assembly instead of acquiring new land.

Ibifiri BobManuel, CEO of Bob Track Tractors, pledged readiness to invest in Nasarawa State, create employment opportunities, and support the government’s mechanized agricultural vision.
