Share

The Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Ltd. has recognized and empowered women entrepreneurs by awarding two participants at the 2023 annual conference of Women in Business, Management, and Public Service (WIMBIZ) with a total of three million naira in the Impact Investment Award.

Desola Aladesuyi, CEO of Bloom Everywhere, and Dr. Eziafakaku Nwokolo, CEO of Shades of Life Care Ltd., received cash awards of one and two million Naira, respectively. This initiative reflects NBC’s commitment to empowering women, enabling them to thrive and contribute meaningfully to economic development.

Ifeoma Okoye, the Corporate Affairs and Community Partnerships Manager, East and Central, NBC, emphasized the company’s passion for sustainability and empowering women. NBC recognizes women as key contributors to the workforce and catalysts for societal progress and economic growth.

The Impact Investment grant aligns with NBC’s commitment to fostering innovation and positively transforming communities. NBC boasts a workforce where 70% are women, with 40% representation in the leadership team, showcasing the company’s dedication to empowering women and youth beyond corporate responsibility.

Dr. Eziafakaku Nwokolo expressed gratitude for the cash grant, describing it as a game-changer for her foundation. The funding will enhance her ability to create opportunities for young women, foster innovation, and contribute to the overall economic development of the country.

NBC has consistently taken the lead in implementing transformative initiatives that enhance the lives of women and youth in Nigeria. In collaboration with its parent company, Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company, NBC unveiled a €1 million fund in 2021 dedicated to supporting community empowerment and social impact programs in Nigeria.
