The Federal Government of Nigeria is set to train 2000 applicants through the UNLOCK Initiative on Vocational Training. Facilitated by the Office of Technical, Vocational, and Entrepreneurship Education under the Presidency, the initiative has commenced the screening process to select participants for its first cohort of nationwide vocational training.

With over 10,000 entries received by the close of the application period on February 29, 2024, the UNLOCK program aims to empower individuals with essential skills and toolkits to foster entrepreneurship nationwide. This initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to nurturing untapped talents and fostering economic growth under the Renewed Hope agenda.

The program targets artisans, technicians, and vocational trainees from all corners of Nigeria, aiming for inclusivity and accessibility. The selected 2000 individuals will undergo a transformative two-week virtual entrepreneurship training program, divided into two phases of 1000 participants each.

The UNLOCK initiative is dedicated to unleashing hidden technical and entrepreneurial capabilities within individuals, enabling their significant contributions to national economic growth and personal advancement.

For more information on the UNLOCK initiative, including participation details or support opportunities, interested parties can contact the Office of Technical, Vocational, and Entrepreneurship Education, The Presidency, located at 30 Jimmy Carter Street, Asokoro, Abuja. Contact numbers are +234 807 697 6814 or +234 703 688 8029.
