truQ, a logistics-fintech company based in Nigeria, has won the Fintech for Financial Inclusion category at the prestigious FINCA Competition Grant, securing $100,000 in funding after competing with more than 300 startups from around the world.
The company says the grant will accelerate its mission to extend credit and digital financial tools to small-scale transporters who often struggle to access traditional financing. The funding will support new product development aimed at helping micro-transporters and small logistics businesses grow, improve their earnings, and run more efficiently.
truQ’s approach combines logistics technology with financial services, digitising transport operations while providing credit support for drivers and operators. This integrated model tackles long-standing barriers in Nigeria’s transport sector, where many small transporters remain excluded from formal financial systems. The company’s solutions focus on reducing downtime, increasing profitability, and creating more sustainable operations for these businesses.
The FINCA Competition Grant, an initiative of FINCA Ventures, recognises businesses with strong potential to drive social and economic change in underserved communities. truQ’s win highlights its growing role in addressing financial inclusion gaps for transporters and small logistics businesses across Nigeria.
Other finalists in the competition include Cladfy from Kenya, which received $60,000 for second place, and 10mg, another Nigerian company, awarded $40,000 for third place.
FINCA Ventures said the competition aims to support solutions that improve access to essential financial services and create pathways for small businesses to scale. truQ’s recognition reflects the increasing importance of financial innovation in enabling growth for transport operators and contributing to broader economic participation.
