Fifty-seven teams from nine Nigerian universities are set to participate in the CGMA Business Leader Challenge 2024, a prestigious regional competition organized by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) and Chartered Global Management Accountants (CIMA). The event is sponsored by Coronation Merchant Bank and Stanbic IBTC Bank.

Participants will tackle real-life business challenges, presenting their solutions to a panel of senior executives in finance and business management. This challenge aims to enhance the business acumen, leadership, and problem-solving skills of young Nigerian talent, showcasing their potential as future leaders in accounting, finance, digital sectors, and broader business contexts.

Ijeoma Anadozie, Associate Director in Nigeria at AICPA & CIMA, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “At AICPA and CIMA, we are dedicated to nurturing and empowering up-and-coming finance, accounting, and business professionals. We are thrilled to host the second edition of the CGMA Business Leader Challenge in Nigeria. Last year’s competition was a resounding success, with 30 teams competing for victory.”

Anadozie added that this year’s challenge is expected to foster the same enthusiasm as participants develop crucial skills in teamwork, communication, and strong leadership.
