The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in partnership with the Katsina State Economic Development Agency (KASEDA), organized a three-day Digital Capacity Building workshop aimed at empowering 50 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Katsina.

In her welcome address, Hajiya Aisha Aminu Malumfashi, the Director-General of KASEDA, expressed gratitude to both NITDA and KASEDA for their collaboration in organizing the event. She underscored the crucial role played by MSMEs in poverty alleviation and their contribution to the economic development of Katsina State and Nigeria as a whole.

Malumfashi emphasized that the workshop served as a vital platform for advancing the growth and development of MSMEs in the state. She highlighted the importance of leveraging digital tools to enhance productivity and achieve success in today’s competitive market.

Engr Salisu Kaka, representing the Director-General of NITDA, stressed the significance of digital transformation in the contemporary business landscape. He outlined the resources and support available to MSMEs through NITDA, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to empowering businesses with digital skills and knowledge.

In his goodwill message, Alhaji Farouk Jobe, the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, lauded the initiative and reiterated the government’s dedication to supporting MSMEs. He affirmed the state government’s commitment to equipping MSMEs with essential digital skills and knowledge to thrive in the digital era.

Throughout the three-day training program, participants engaged in interactive sessions, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops aimed at enhancing their digital capabilities. Experienced trainers and experts facilitated sessions covering topics such as e-commerce, digital marketing, cybersecurity, and financial technology.

The workshop exemplifies the collaborative efforts between government agencies and stakeholders to empower MSMEs and foster economic growth and development in Katsina State. It underscores the importance of digital literacy and skill development in driving entrepreneurship and innovation in today’s digital age.
