NITDA Donates N30 Million ICT Centre to Richard George Foundation
Share

In a significant stride towards fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has presented a cutting-edge N30 million ICT center to the Richard George Foundation (RGF).

The Director-General of NITDA, Mr. Kashifu Abdullahi, made this generous donation at the formal inauguration and fundraising gala of RGF in Abuja.

He explained that this initiative, a part of President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, aims to provide crucial infrastructure that can serve as a catalyst for innovation and business growth.

The digital economy center is fully equipped with computers, internet connectivity, printers, solar power, and other essential resources. This contribution underscores NITDA’s commitment to advancing education, skills, and entrepreneurship, aligning with Mr. Abdullahi’s own life journey and values instilled by his parents.

Mr. Abdullahi shared how his upbringing in a community rich with artisans instilled in him a strong foundation of values. Education played a pivotal role in shaping his path, providing him with the knowledge that he eventually transformed into valuable skills. He emphasized the importance of skill development, recounting how his proficiency in web design opened doors to entrepreneurship. His story serves as an inspiration, highlighting that beyond formal education, acquiring practical skills is equally vital.

The founder of RGF, Mr. Richard George, expressed the profound significance of the event, as it marked the realization of a long-held dream. This dream is centered on giving back to the community by mentoring young, talented African graduates with the vision to become catalysts for positive change. The RGF encapsulates Mr. George’s own humble beginnings and serves as a beacon of hope for aspiring changemakers.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Ibigotemieari Adebiyi, described her journey with RGF as a transformative experience of self-discovery. This initiative not only provides opportunities but also nurtures the potential within each individual, equipping them to become impactful leaders in their communities.
