The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has initiated a digital empowerment program for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Katsina State, with commendations to both the Federal and Katsina state governments for their funding support.
The Director-General of NITDA highlighted that the program is a response to a call to action initiated by the President and the Governor of Katsina State. In her welcome remarks, the Director-General of the Katsina State Economic Development Agency (KASEDA), Hajiya Aisha Aminu Malumfashi, emphasized the significance of leveraging digital innovation to empower SMEs, which are essential for the development of every economy.
Describing MSMEs as vital contributors to economic growth, job creation, and poverty alleviation, Hajiya Malumfashi stressed the importance of providing practical strategies for MSMEs to embrace and leverage digital technologies effectively.
The program, named NITDA Digital Empowerment for MSMEs (NDE4M), focuses on the theme “Leveraging Digital Technology to Improve MSMEs’ Business.” It aligns with the Redefined Presidential Priority of reforming the economy for sustained inclusive growth and NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan 2.0 pillar on nurturing an innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem. Throughout the program, participants will explore various facets of digital innovation and practical strategies to enhance their businesses.
