Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has launched the Omituntun 2.0 Enterprise Skill Development Programme, which aims to train 500 unemployed graduates in leadership, financial sustainability, entrepreneurship, and business proposal writing skills.
Key Details:
Participants: 15 youths from each of the 33 local government areas, aged 22-35.
Training Components:
– Business proposal writing
– Successful interview techniques
– Entrepreneurship and skill acquisition
– Financial and business management
– Leadership skills and mentorship
Monitoring: Beneficiaries will be monitored for six months post-training.
Starter Packs: Trainees will receive starter packs for business start-ups based on their interests.
Implementation: The program will start in the Oke-Ogun zone on June 10th, followed by other zones.

Wasilat Adegoke, Commissioner for Youths and Sports Emphasized reducing unemployment and youth restiveness, cautioning against selling starter packs.
Jasper Ezenwaka, Consultant, Highlighted the program’s potential to address the ‘japa’ syndrome and foster an entrepreneurial mindset among youths.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sport, Mrs. Olubukola Oladipo:** Urged applicants to be truthful and maximize the opportunity.
Director, Youth Development, Mrs. Kudirat Mustapha, Noted the uniqueness and merit-based selection process of the training, targeting unemployed graduates initially and extending to youths in business later.
