Ondo State and Johnvents Group have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening agribusiness, manufacturing, and MSME competitiveness in Nigeria, highlighting strategies to accelerate economic transformation and boost Africa’s global industrial standing.
The pledge was made during Johnvents Group’s 2025 End-of-Year Celebration at The Dome, Akure, attended by government officials, traditional rulers, international partners, and industry leaders. The event reflected on a “transformative year” for the group and the state’s industrial ecosystem.
Tarun Chawla, Group Executive Director of Johnvents, said the company had expanded operations and enhanced its global presence, crediting Ondo State’s supportive business environment. “This year reshaped us as a business. We strengthened our operations, expanded our relevance, and demonstrated what a committed team can achieve when purpose and discipline align,” he said.
Chawla highlighted partnerships with global institutions such as British International Investment, the International Finance Corporation, and AFRIEXIM Bank, noting that Johnvents now participates in value chains across Africa, the UAE, Asia, and Europe.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa described Johnvents as a model for homegrown enterprises aspiring to global competitiveness while benefiting local communities. “With over ten factories, more than 1,500 direct employees, thousands of benefiting households, and an ecosystem of over 5,000 farmers, Johnvents proves that prosperity becomes inevitable when ingenuity meets institutional support,” he said.
The governor also emphasised Ondo State’s reforms in ease of doing business, digitisation, infrastructure expansion, and security enhancement as pillars supporting private-sector growth and investment.
Johnvents’ contributions to community development, youth empowerment, education, and agribusiness were celebrated at the event. The group operates seven businesses across production, processing, manufacturing, and trade, including Johnvents Cocoa Factory, Johnvents Foods, Johnvents Industries DMCC, Johnvents Farms, Premium Cocoa Product (Ile-Oluji), and Haven Hauling.
The partnership signals continued focus on building strong industries, scaling MSME capacity, and positioning Ondo State and Nigeria as competitive players in global agribusiness and manufacturing sectors.
