Share

The Origin Tech Group, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, has announced the Greener Hope National Agricultural Mechanisation Program (GHAPP), a significant initiative aimed at revolutionizing Nigeria’s agricultural sector, boosting food production, and fostering sustainable growth.

 Key Objectives and Components

  1. Enhancing Food Security and Economic Development

– GHAPP is a part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s executive order declaring a state of emergency on food security.

– The Federal Executive Council has approved GHAPP, marking a major leap forward for the agricultural sector.

  1. Cultivation and Mechanization

– The programme targets the cultivation of 500,000 hectares of arable land.

– It emphasizes the adoption of advanced agricultural technologies and the promotion of agro-industrialization.

– Modern agricultural mechanization service centres and hubs will be established across 37 farming clusters.

  1. Equipment and Infrastructure

– These centres will be equipped with state-of-the-art machinery from Origin Tech Group’s subsidiary, Origin Automobile Works.

– Technical partnerships with South Korea, Taiwan, and Brazil will support the production and supply of agricultural machinery.

– The programme will include high-powered tractors, dozers, sprayers, drones, and large-scale silos.

  1. 4. Youth Participation and Training

– Comprehensive training for youths on modern agricultural techniques and equipment will be provided by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, the Chief of Defence Staff, and the National Security Adviser.

– A digital gateway for tractor hailing and recruitment will be developed in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Communications.

  1. Sustainability and Replicability

– GHAPP aims to be replicable and sustainable, extending support to smaller farms and involving international partners like Campo Brazil for expertise and assistance.

– The programme will establish equipment centres, data centres, and spare parts shops to ensure efficient management and maintenance.

 Economic and Social Impact

GHAPP is expected to significantly transform Nigeria’s agricultural sector by:

– Promoting advanced mechanization and capacity building.

– Increasing farmers’ wealth and mitigating urban migration.

– Securing Nigeria’s food future by addressing the gaps left by previous administrations.

Origin Tech Group’s Legacy

For over 25 years, Origin Tech Group has been a leader in providing innovative solutions across various economic sectors, including food systems, automotive, civil engineering, and construction. GHAPP represents a continuation of this legacy, with a strong focus on sustainable agricultural development and economic growth.
