Oriki Energy, a social impact startup based in Paris, France, has announced plans to collaborate with the federal government to enhance job creation and economic activities at the grassroots level in Nigeria. The company aims to achieve this by establishing a network of profitable solar stations nationwide.
As part of its commitment, Oriki Energy will empower 100 entrepreneurs in Abeokuta, Ogun State, with solar power businesses between May and August 2024. This initiative, conducted in partnership with the Olowu of Owu, Prof. Saka Matemilola, underscores Oriki Energy’s dedication to fostering entrepreneurship and economic growth in Nigeria.
The empowerment program aligns with the vision of Seni Oyekanmi, the founder and CEO of Oriki Energy, to empower one million entrepreneurs across Nigeria with solar power businesses by 2034.
Funmi Kogbe, a representative of Oriki Energy, highlighted the company’s mission to leverage solar energy to unlock entrepreneurial potential nationwide. She emphasized Oriki Energy’s role in enabling entrepreneurs to thrive in profitable businesses, thereby improving their livelihoods and contributing to economic progress.
Oriki Energy envisions a future where all Nigerians can access the energy they need to pursue their aspirations and drive economic development. The company aims to achieve this by fostering entrepreneurship, creating job opportunities, and stimulating economic activity through a robust network of solar stations across Africa.
Kogbe also mentioned Oriki Energy’s ongoing efforts to provide energy to communities across Nigeria through mobile phone charging kiosks, thereby promoting financial independence for Oriki entrepreneurs and their families.
By empowering entrepreneurs with solar power businesses, Oriki Energy is not only advancing sustainable energy solutions but also facilitating economic empowerment and community development in Nigeria.
