The Osun State government has launched the Creative Business Cup (CBC) to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and business growth among startups and creative talents. The initiative was created through the Office of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in collaboration with the Global Entrepreneurship Network Nigeria (GENN) and the Enterprise Development Centre of Pan-Atlantic University.
According to a statement by Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. Kolapo Alimi, the competition will provide participants with business management training, personalized mentorship, and an opportunity to compete for a seed grant to scale their ventures.
“This competition represents a major step in empowering young entrepreneurs and creatives by equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to succeed in today’s competitive business landscape,” the statement read. It also highlighted that participants would gain exposure and a platform to showcase their talents, with the possibility of representing Osun State on the global stage.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals, Bamikole Omishore, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to driving economic growth, supporting small businesses, and fostering job creation.
“Through the CBC competition, we are investing in the future of Osun by nurturing creative and innovative enterprises that can contribute to sustainable development,” Omishore stated.
The launch of the CBC underscores the administration’s dedication to empowering young people, creating new opportunities, and positioning Osun State as a hub for entrepreneurial excellence.
