Applications are now open for the Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women’s Empowerment 2026 — a prestigious international recognition that celebrates impactful initiatives advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls around the world.

About the Award
Launched under the leadership of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, this global award honors individuals and organizations whose work significantly contributes to women’s empowerment and gender equality. Rooted in a vision of social inclusion and sustainable development, the award highlights innovative approaches that enhance the quality of life for women, promote equal opportunities, and strengthen community well-being.

The initiative builds on Princess Sabeeka’s commitment to improving the lives of Bahraini families with limited income or special needs, with a broader aim of ensuring social stability and empowering women globally.

Objectives of the Award
The Princess Sabeeka Global Award aims to:

  •  Recognize the contributions of individuals, private and public sector entities, civil society organizations, and women’s rights advocates to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment.
  • Promote and celebrate innovative policies, programs, and solutions that deliver tangible progress toward equality.
  • Foster inclusive and collaborative approaches that advance women’s empowerment as a foundation for community prosperity and sustainable development.
  • Provide a global platform to honor and share successful models that inspire continued action and progress worldwide.

Award Details
The Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award offers four prizes, each valued at $100,000, awarded across four categories:

  •  Individual Women’s Empowerment Champions
  • Civil Society Organization
  • Public Sector Institutions
  • Private Sector Entities

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the 2026 edition of the award, applicants must:

* Be individuals, organizations, or entities working to advance women’s empowerment and gender equality.
* Represent one of the eligible categories: individual champions, civil society, public sector, or private sector.
* Submit one application that may include multiple impactful initiatives. (Including several initiatives in one application can strengthen the chances of success.)
* Be open to participation from any country worldwide.
