Promasidor Nigeria has brought together students, educators, government officials, and professionals for a one-day mentorship and career guidance programme in Lagos aimed at helping junior secondary school students make informed career decisions.
The initiative, a key part of the company’s youth empowerment efforts, held under its Harness Your Dream programme, focused on equipping students with practical insights, discipline, and motivation to pursue their future ambitions.
Speaking at the event, Promasidor Nigeria’s Chief Executive Officer, François Gillet, said education remains one of the most effective tools for community development.
“Promasidor is more than just a food and beverage company; we’re part of the community,” he said. “Harness Your Dream gives students a chance to understand their strengths, explore different career paths, and start thinking about their future in a focused way.”
Representing the First Lady of Lagos State, Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Mrs Anike Adekanye, former Tutor General and Permanent Secretary of Education District II, commended Promasidor for sustaining a programme that complements the state’s effort to prepare young people for success.
“This initiative aligns perfectly with the governor’s vision for a more educated and empowered generation,” Adekanye said.
Head of Regulatory and Government Affairs, Dr Chinenyem Obasi-Obonga, explained that the programme supports UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and the Lagos State THEMES+ Agenda by helping students connect classroom learning with real-world career choices.
Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area, Mr Adebayo Olasoju, urged students to remain focused and resilient.
“Don’t let your situation define your future. What matters is your drive and how much you believe in yourself,” he said.
Students also had direct interactions with Promasidor staff who shared career insights, including Mr Olabisi Ajeyomi (Head of Sales and Operations Planning), Mrs Arike Nwachukwu (National Key Account Manager), and Mr Chukwunonso Udeh (Performance and People Services Specialist).
The interactive sessions featured quizzes, mentorship talks, and motivational discussions, with prizes awarded to outstanding participants.
Through Harness Your Dream, Promasidor Nigeria continues to invest in education-focused initiatives that promote youth development and prepare students for a brighter, purpose-driven future.
