Sanwo-Olu: Lagos Invests Over N8.4 Billion to Empower Over 12,000 MSMEs
Share

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has disclosed that his administration has invested more than N8.4 billion in supporting over 12,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the state in the past four years.

He made the announcement on Tuesday while speaking as the special guest of honour at the 2025 edition of the Micro Enterprise Support Initiative (MESI), held at Blue Roof, Agidingbi, Ikeja.

The governor noted that the funding forms part of the government’s broader commitment to combating poverty and empowering entrepreneurs, particularly women and youth.

Organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), MESI is a key initiative under the state’s THEMES+ agenda, focused on boosting self-reliance and job creation through micro-enterprise development.

Governor Sanwo-Olu praised the latest cohort of 1,700 beneficiaries of the initiative, calling them “dedicated men and women who embody the future of the state’s economy.” He also reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to inclusive economic growth through sustained, targeted interventions that support entrepreneurship and innovation at the grassroots level.
