The Sougth After School of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (SASIE) is set to empower African women entrepreneurs and startups in the tech sector with financial support and mentorship to kick-start and scale their businesses. SASIE has opened online registration for its new initiative, the “Idea to Venture” program, which aims to support women’s businesses in tech.
Jennifer Dumle Daniel, Executive Director at SASIE, announced the program, inviting African women to join and benefit from the opportunities it offers. “We welcome African women to join this Idea to Venture program, which can give their tech startups and ideas the needed push-start,” Daniel said.
Program Details
The Idea to Venture program is designed for aspiring African women entrepreneurs, particularly those with tech-based business ideas. The program will take place virtually on June 29th, 2024, for an hour. It includes six weeks of learning and training, valued at $4,000, but is free for participants of the program. Any woman living in Africa above the age of 18 is eligible to apply.
Participants will also have the chance to pitch their ideas to a panel of experts. Successful pitches could earn a spot in SASIE’s business incubator for an additional six weeks, providing further mentorship and support. The cohort begins in July and will be held online, concluding with an in-person meet-up.
