SIFAX Group has empowered 3,500 Nigerians through a series of skill acquisition programmes, healthcare interventions, and business support schemes held between July and August 2025. The interventions, delivered via its Ajoke Ayisat Afolabi Foundation (AAAF) in collaboration with partner organisations, targeted widows, returnees, persons with disabilities, and young entrepreneurs across the country.
Beneficiaries received healthcare services in Lagos, Isade, and Zaria; vocational training in tailoring, shoemaking, crocheting, bag-making, catering, and photography; and access to community projects such as a borehole in Lagos. In partnership with the World Bank and the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), the foundation also distributed essential items to 750 returnees.
The programmes further supported petty traders in Umuahia through training linked to an interest-free loan scheme, while 500 youths in Lagos received practical training in event management, confectionery, cosmetics, textile design, and other trades.
Speaking at the closing of the Lagos programme, SIFAX’s Group Head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Olumuyiwa Akande represented by Mr. Olatunde Adewola said the initiatives were aimed at creating sustainable economic opportunities.
Mr. Olabiyi Oluwole, Managing Director of NIDSMET Services, added that the scheme has already produced entrepreneurs who have gone on to establish businesses and create jobs.
The interventions underline how combining vocational training with healthcare support and small-scale enterprise development can offer vulnerable groups a pathway to stability and long-term livelihood opportunities.
