The Small-Scale Enterprises (SSE) Lab has empowered more than 100 entrepreneurs through its flagship Manufacturing Business Accelerator program, designed to equip small business owners with practical skills, mentorship, and growth tools to scale their ventures.
The initiative climaxed with the MBA Business Showers held in Lagos, bringing together government agencies, development partners, and financial institutions, including NOVA Bank, to celebrate the progress recorded by participating entrepreneurs.
Speaking at the event in Ikeja, the founder and Convener of SSE Lab, Desola Jimmy-Eboma, said the program was developed to transition entrepreneurs from ideas and informal hustles into structured, sustainable businesses.
According to her, the 12-week program exposed participants to business validation, product development, branding, and market strategy sessions to position them for growth and investment readiness.
Jimmy-Eboma revealed that since its inception, SSE Lab has trained over 100 entrepreneurs, introduced 40 children to entrepreneurship through its Maker’s Market initiative, and supported more than 4,000 MSMEs across Africa through webinars, toolkits, and mentorship frameworks.
Head of Retail and SME Banking at NOVA Bank, Esther Obiekwe, applauded SSE Lab’s impact and emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in strengthening Nigeria’s MSME sector. She noted that the bank would continue to back programs that promote innovation, inclusion, and long-term value creation for small business owners, stating that empowering entrepreneurs remains central to building national economic resilience.
