The Association of Certified Business Development Service Providers of Nigeria (ACBDSP) has been officially launched while receiving commendations from Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).

Olawale Fasanya, the Director General of SMEDAN, called it a positive step and said the association would expand the use of business development services in Nigeria.

Fasanya made this statement while receiving the Board of Trustees (BOT) and members of the ACBDSP on Tuesday.

The Head of SMEDAN reaffirmed the goals of the BDSP program in Nigeria, stating that the Federal Government intends to use it to increase the effectiveness of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) sector.

Fasanya tasked all certified Business Development Service Providers (BDSPs) to work hard under the umbrella of ACBDSP while pledging SMEDAN’s commitment to collaborate with the new association.

According to him, this is to bring value to the SMEs in Nigeria and to promote the growth of the sector.

Fasanya further urged the association to drive the commitment of its members toward the shared goals.

He assured the association of SMEDAN’s readiness to support to promote the development of SMEs in the country.

The Chairman BOT, ACBDSP, Stanley Muoneke, praised SMEDAN for its foresight, guidance, and assistance in the association’s establishment as well as its ongoing efforts to expand the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) industry in Nigeria.

Muoneke also praised Kaduna Business School and the Pan-Atlantic University’s Enterprise Development Center for their leading roles.

According to him, the ACBDSP aspired to create a network of qualified business development service providers who would define excellence and establish ethical standards for the field in Nigeria.

“Going into the future, SMEDAN and ACBDSP expect to work closely together on key projects aimed at bringing value and growth to the MSMEs sector in Nigeria,’’ Muoneke said.
