In a heartfelt ceremony at Wuse Shopping Plaza, Abuja, Mrs. Tijani Amina Oluwatobiloba, a single mother and hairdresser, received significant support from the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational, and Entrepreneurship Education (SSAP-TVEE), Madam Abiola Arogundade. Oluwatobiloba was presented with a made-in-Nigeria solar kiosk and a financial grant of N500,000.

Key Highlights:

Empowerment Ceremony:

   – The event was marked by emotional gratitude from Oluwatobiloba, who expressed that the support had reignited her hope for the future. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to support skilled individuals who lack the necessary resources or physical locations to develop their businesses.

Official Statements:

   – Madam Abiola Arogundade: Emphasized that her efforts align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to enhance technical, vocational, and entrepreneurship skills across Nigeria. She highlighted the importance of empowering skilled individuals and disclosed plans to support more women nationwide based on their skills.

   – Mr. David Henry: An Assistant Chief Information Officer, reported that this empowerment follows a similar initiative on June 9, 2024, where a total of N100 million was awarded to 120 beneficiaries of the UNLOCK Training Programme, along with additional solar kiosks distributed across the country.

 Ministerial Influence:

   – Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye: Played a pivotal role in influencing the decision to support Oluwatobiloba, sharing her challenging circumstances and advocating for her cause. She praised the SSAP-TVEE for their generous gesture and expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his commitment to the welfare of the poor.

Community Impact:

   – Madam Bilikisu Salawu: The Woman Leader of Wuse Shopping Plaza, expressed optimism about Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing its potential to uplift the underprivileged despite current economic challenges. She affirmed her faith in the administration’s commitment to grassroots development and positive change for the less fortunate.

Future Plans:

   – Madam Arogundade announced intentions to develop training programs for individuals needing skill acquisition and to provide support for those with existing skills but lacking funding or physical locations.

This initiative represents a concrete step towards economic empowerment and community development, reflecting the administration’s dedication to supporting the underprivileged and fostering sustainable growth.
