STL Trustees has awarded N3 million in grants to 30 women-led businesses through its newly launched STL FundHer initiative, reinforcing its commitment to empowering female entrepreneurs in Nigeria.
Announced in celebration of International Women’s Day, the initiative provided N100,000 to each selected business owner over the weekend to support and expand their enterprises.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Head of Trust Services at STL Trustees, Adesola Aje, highlighted the significance of the program in fostering business growth for women. She noted that the selection process was rigorous due to the high number of applications, with a focus on impact, innovation, and resilience rather than business size.
STL Trustees’ Managing Director, Funmi Ekundayo, commended the beneficiaries for their dedication and perseverance despite economic challenges. She encouraged them to maximize the opportunity by networking and learning from one another, emphasizing that STL FundHer is not just about financial support but also about building a strong community of female entrepreneurs.
One of the beneficiaries, Rebecca Aremu of Becblaq Atelier, expressed gratitude for the grant, stating that it would help grow her business while the insights from the event would guide her future investments.
The STL FundHer initiative is part of STL Trustees’ broader corporate social responsibility strategy, aimed at fostering financial empowerment and business sustainability for women. The company plans to expand the program in future editions to reach more female entrepreneurs across Nigeria.
