The Macallan, renowned for its quality and distinctive character, has joined forces with Nigerian fashion designer Mai Atafo to provide upskilling opportunities for aspiring fashion entrepreneurs.

The transformative workshop titled ‘Fashion Conversations with Mai Atafo’ was held in Lagos, and hosted at the ATAFO Workshop—a hub of creativity and innovation. The collaboration aimed to empower budding and established fashion creatives, offering insights into design, craftsmanship, and brand building under the guidance of Mai Atafo and inspired by The Macallan.

Hammed Adebiyi, Brand Manager of Edrington portfolio in Nigeria, emphasized The Macallan’s dedication to excellence, paralleling the commitment of skilled artisans in the fashion industry. The partnership reflects a shared passion for craftsmanship and aims to nurture the next generation of creative minds in Nigeria’s fashion industry.

Mai Atafo, a Nigerian fashion icon and creative director, highlighted the deeper significance of the collaboration beyond fashion sponsorship, emphasizing the celebration of craftsmanship shared by The Macallan and himself.

The workshop serves as a platform for personal and professional growth, offering networking opportunities, and mentorship, and equipping participants with the knowledge and confidence to thrive in the competitive Nigerian fashion industry.
