Union Bank of Nigeria has reaffirmed its dedication to facilitating easy access to capital for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the country, aiming to enhance the growth and profitability of this crucial sector. This commitment was emphasized at the ‘Top 100 Fastest Growing SMEs in Nigeria’ conference, hosted by Business Day.

The conference, themed ‘Accelerating growth for SMEs in an era of uncertainty,’ brought together a diverse range of participants, including industry experts, small business owners, policymakers, and other stakeholders in the SME sector. Various panel sessions during the event delved into discussions on critical issues related to the development of SMEs in Nigeria.

During the ‘Raising Finance for SMEs’ panel, Gloria Omereonye, Area Business Executive at Union Bank, provided insights into supporting SMEs in accessing finance. She highlighted the importance of creating hassle-free, seamless, and technologically innovative processes for SMEs to receive loans, emphasizing Union Bank’s commitment to collaborating with and supporting entrepreneurs seeking to scale up their ventures quickly.

Gloria Omereonye stated, “Creating hassle-free, seamless, and technologically innovative processes for SMEs to receive loans is a big relief for businesses looking to develop and grow their enterprises quickly. At Union Bank, we are always keen to collaborate and support entrepreneurs looking to scale up their small ventures.”

Union Bank expressed its pleasure in continuing its association with the Business Day 100 SME Conference, considering it a valuable platform for showcasing the contributions of small and medium-sized enterprises crucial to the development of the Nigerian economy. The bank’s commitment aligns with the broader goal of fostering an environment where SMEs can thrive and contribute significantly to the nation’s economic growth.
