Wema Bank Plc, has launched its vision dubbed ‘Leadership Development School’  as supplement to its Purple Academy to help in the overall development and transformation of its workforce.

Mr. Ademola Adebise, the Managing Director/CEO of Wema Bank Plc., stated during the official opening ceremony of the leadership school that organizations have a challenging task to maximize performance and deliver value in the modern world and emphasized the importance of leadership in achieving organizational success.

He gave the populace the assurance that the bank would keep using regional and global alliances to establish the leadership school as the epicenter of excellence.

The bank’s chief human resources officer, Mrs. Lolade Ogungbenro, praised the leadership school as having an exceptional capacity to provide the bank’s varied staff with the skills needed for the future of work.

”We have designed business and executive education for impact, and the academy is exploring new experiences and diverse perspectives that translate to significant returns on investment for the business,” she said.

In agreement with Mrs. Ogungbenro, Oluwaferanmi Owolabi, the bank’s head of learning and development, stated that constant learning is critical due to the changing nature of work.

“Purple Leadership School is at the pinnacle of our Corporate University that seeks to fuel our current leadership, build resilience, drive succession with a high-performance pipeline and groom the next generation of leaders to thrive and excel in business in an ever-changing world,” Oluwaferanmi said.
