The Global Youth Entrepreneurship Summit (GYES) 2024 promises to be a week of connection, inspiration and celebration. Hosted by Youth Business International (YBI), the Summit will bring together enterprise support organisations (ESOs) from across the globe along with funders, young entrepreneurs and key stakeholders from the entrepreneurship ecosystem to explore a collective commitment to addressing the urgent topics of our time and have a transformative impact through youth entrepreneurship.
The Summit will be held 8-10 October at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies in Nairobi, Kenya with the key theme of ‘Shaping the future of youth entrepreneurship’. The agenda features keynote talks on inspiring the generation for change, a learning festival packed with sessions on innovation, targeted support and responsible business, an awards ceremony and the launch of a new report.
On Day 2 of GYES, delegates will also have exclusive access to a marketplace that showcases some of the finest Kenyan youth-run businesses, all supported by local member organisations of the global YBI network. It provides attendees with the opportunity to meet and interact with young entrepreneurs who have benefited from the YBI network’s support. More than 25 youth-led businesses will be represented, exhibiting an array of products and services that reflect the diverse and creative approaches young people are taking to build sustainable businesses in today’s economy. The stalls will vary from footwear and clothing to sustainable farming, wall art and vegan food.
Entrepreneurship is a life-changing option to unlock income generation and help young people achieve economic security and independence. The YBI network wants to ensure that every young person, whatever their circumstances, has the opportunity to harness entrepreneurship and be part of a generation for change.
