Zoho Partners with She Code Africa to Empower Women in Tech
Share

Zoho, a global technology company, has announced a partnership with She Code Africa (SCA), a leading non-profit organization focused on empowering and upskilling African women in the tech industry. This collaboration aims to provide critical tech skills to Nigerian students and foster innovation through the use of Zoho Creator, a low-code app development platform.

Training for SCA Academy Trainers:

   – Zoho will conduct sessions for 30 SCA Academy trainers, introducing them to Zoho Creator. These trainers will receive a three-day, in-depth training session at Zoho’s Lagos office, learning how to build enterprise-grade applications with low-code technology.

Free Access and Resources:

The trainers will receive free access to the Zoho Creator platform for one year, along with comprehensive training materials to support their learning and subsequent teaching.

Young Creators Program (YCP):

This initiative is part of Zoho’s ‘Young Creators Program,’ which aims to bridge the technical skill gap and support talent-building among the youth. The program focuses on equipping future business leaders with advanced digital skills and fostering technology innovation.

Statements from Key Stakeholders

Kehinde Ogundare, Country Head, Zoho Nigeria mentioned  “At Zoho, we support local communities by upskilling and hiring local talent, empowering local businesses with our technology, and promoting responsible and sustainable development. Our growth strategy, known as transnational localism, embodies these values. In continuation of this commitment to support progress at the grassroots, we are partnering with She Code Africa to equip Nigerian students with critical tech skills.”

Maryblessing Okolie, Community Manager, She Code Africa said

“The ‘Young Creators Program’ aims to bridge the technical skill gap and support talent-building for our youth who will be the next generation of leaders and professionals. We are glad to partner with Zoho to help our trainers learn the latest advancements in low-code technology, and then pass on the knowledge to our other students.”

Global Impact of the Young Creators Program

Launched globally in 2022, the Young Creators Program has trained over 2000+ students on Zoho Creator, enabling participants to earn program completion certificates and exciting prizes.

Beyond technical skills, the program boosts confidence, fosters personal growth, and opens doors to further opportunities in the technology industry.

The partnership between Zoho and She Code Africa represents a significant step towards empowering women in tech and bridging the skill gap in the African tech industry. By providing essential training and resources, this collaboration aims to create a new generation of tech-savvy business leaders and innovators, contributing to the overall development and growth of the tech ecosystem in Nigeria and beyond.
