On Monday, January 2, 2023, the Reputable Poll International (RPI) released a list of notable Africans, including political and religious leaders, businessmen and women, philanthropists and more, as the most reputable personalities across Africa.
The 100-person list features individuals from diverse sectors, including; Governance/Leadership, Entertainment, Human rights/Advocacy, Education, and Business. The selection criteria are Integrity, Visibility, and Impact.
Notable individuals from the business world include; The President of Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), Dr. Agnes Kalibata, Egypt’s Naguib Onsi Sawiris, Chairman of Weather Investment company, Ghana’s Sir Samuel Esson Jonah, Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, and Executive Chairman of Jonah Capital in South Africa and Nigeria’s Dr. Dauda Lawal, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of Credent Capital and Advisory Ltd.
According to RPI, some people were included on the list to honor their accomplishments to social entrepreneurship and social impact, which have transformed African enterprises and positively impacted lives without stirring much controversy.
Ms. Beldina Auma, Co-Chairperson of the Review and Audit Committee, Chair Emeritus of the World Bank Group-IMF African Society, and President of SCIP-International, stated that the organization is committed to recognizing individuals, groups, and companies that consistently improve lives in Africa and around the world during the announcement of the list.
