Fan Milk Plc Partners Obasanjo Farms Nigeria Limited to Boost Dairy Farming Expansion

Fan Milk Plc and Obasanjo Farms Nigeria Limited have announced a strategic partnership aimed at advancing dairy farming expansion and promoting local sourcing in Nigeria. The partnership involves the establishment of a dairy farm in Iseyin, Oyo State, which is projected to produce 300 heifers within the first year and double that figure by the end of December 2026. Additionally, Fan Milk will import 100 pregnant heifers from Egypt to support the project.

Under the five-year partnership agreement, Fan Milk will off-take the fresh milk produced and provide training and technical capacity building for personnel. The collaboration is expected to create employment opportunities, particularly in rural areas, and foster positive relationships with local communities.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo expressed excitement over the partnership, highlighting its potential to drive forward dairy farm expansion and local sourcing initiatives. Similarly, the general manager of Danone Sub-Saharan Africa emphasized the importance of sourcing raw materials locally, empowering farmers, and contributing to the growth of the agricultural sector.

The partnership aligns with the government’s agenda for food security, economic growth, job creation, and poverty alleviation. Project Lead for Obasanjo Farms Nigeria Limited, Dr. Olusegun Ariyo, emphasized the significance of the partnership in achieving the ambitions for the Nigerian dairy industry.

Managing Director of Fan Milk Plc, Kayode Adebiyi, underscored the strategic nature of the partnership, designed to enhance local dairy production, reduce import dependency, and promote sustainable agricultural practices. The collaboration marks a significant milestone in Fan Milk’s commitment to backward integration and contributes to the development of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
