BusinessDay is set to award Nigeria’s top 100 most promising small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) who have been resilient in growth despite the country’s challenging business environment.
The SMEs that will receive awards are those that would significantly impact the nation’s entrepreneurial environment in 2022 and were chosen from a variety of Nigerian economic sectors.
The award ceremony set to hold on Friday, January 20, 2023 at the Stable, Surulere with the theme “How SMEs may thrive in an age of instability” will bring together decision-makers and key players in the Nigerian entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The selection process for the 100 SMEs include a variety of factors, such as potential for growth, profitability, business structure, and growth.
The speakers for the event include; Ayokunnumi Abraham, head of SME products and segment, Union Bank; Oparinde Babatunde, director of the special project, Yellow Card; Abayomi Awobokun, co-founder, Orbit54; Anne Welsh, founder/CEO, Painless Universal; Ekundayo Ayeni, CEO, Businessplus USA and Olufolake Ikumapayi, head SME Unit, LSETF.
Others are; Joseph Nnanna, chief economist, Development Bank of Nigeria; Babatunde Akin Moses, CEO/cofounder, Sycamore; Ngozi Angela Ogwo, partner/CEO, Grant Thornton; Peter Nwofia, partner, Tax &Regulatory Service and Uzorchukwu Obienu, partner, KPMG among others.
