Share

In a remarkable stride towards technological empowerment, global tech giant Cisco has partnered with TD Africa, a prominent technology solutions provider in Sub-Saharan Africa, to unveil the Cisco EDGE Centre in Lagos, Nigeria. This collaborative initiative stands as a beacon of progress, aimed at propelling the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the digital realm.

Positioned within the dynamic Tech Experience Centre, the Cisco EDGE Centre assumes the role of an incubator, presenting SMEs with unparalleled access to cutting-edge Cisco communication and collaboration technology. Beyond this, it is also a nurturing ground for skill development through training and enablement programs tailored to the evolving digital landscape.

A standout feature of the centre is its capability to connect SMEs with Cisco’s global experts. This bridge enables SMEs to leverage the expertise of seasoned professionals, harnessing their insights to cultivate and refine business ideas in the digital domain. The convergence of local talent with global insights aims to expedite market entry, foster innovation, and ultimately contribute to the local economy by generating new employment opportunities.

The acronym “EDGE” encapsulates the ethos of the initiative, standing for “Experience, Design, GTM (Go to Market), and Earn.” This multi-dimensional approach aspires to facilitate a holistic business journey for SMEs, with a prime focus on experiential learning, strategic design, market penetration, and sustainable earnings. The initiative is set to catalyze innovation, elevate SMEs’ capabilities, and empower them to navigate the digital age with confidence.

The Cisco EDGE Centre encompasses three pivotal functions unified within its physical space. It serves as a platform where local partners can showcase their technological advancements and host impactful client events, thereby fostering collaboration and showcasing innovation. Furthermore, it provides resources and tools that nurture local innovators and entrepreneurs, facilitating the creation of secure, intelligent, and interconnected solutions that resonate with the digital era’s demands. Additionally, it offers immersive training programs and educational opportunities in the realm of advanced digital technologies, equipping individuals with the prowess to navigate the intricacies of the digital landscape.

As the Cisco EDGE Centre in Lagos unfurls its doors, it ushers in a new era of possibilities for SMEs. By intertwining global expertise, state-of-the-art technology, and comprehensive training, the centre strives to be the catalyst that propels local businesses toward digital success. The collaboration between Cisco and TD Africa stands as a testament to the collective commitment to fostering innovation, driving economic growth, and nurturing a generation of entrepreneurs poised to shape Nigeria’s digital future.
