It was a historical gathering of young minds who are ready to change the world and make global impact at Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo on May 26th, 2023 for a conference tagged “Innovation 2.0: Activating Your Potentials For Global Impact” organized by Cornerstone International Foundation.
The Convener and Director of Cornerstone International Foundation in his opening address stated that the youth population of any country is the driving force behind innovative and creative inventions and this potentials are under threat due to the myriads of problems facing young minds of the 21st century.
“Innovation is beyond imagination, it an action oriented effort towards positive impact”, he added.
He further said that it his is belief that after the conference, young and vibrant minds who will lead the march in this new age of intellectual revolution would be birth from the conference.
The first speaker, Amb Emmanuel Agida, ECOWAS Youth Ambassador and the youngest political appointee in Nigeria in his talk “Self Discovery: A Catalyst For Innovative Growth” said “When you have the desire to be a change, inspiration will come”. He further admonished the participants they they can be whosoever they desire to be sharing his story of how he rose from being an houseboy to a global Icon
The Second Speaker, Elizabeth Samuel in her speaking session titled: Personal Development: The Key to an Innovative Mind” said “-Start depriving yourself of certain things if you want to achieve in life”. She pointed out the following:
-Information without transformation will lead to frustration
-If you can’t prepare, you can’t appear
-Be confident in what you do because your confidence determines how needed you are.
There was a panelist session which had Israel Alabi, CEO, Agrotronics and Miracle Dominic, CEO of DOM Clothings as the panelists and Hannah Moses as the Moderator
In Israel Alabi’s voice ” For you to work with someone, you need to check out for vision, value, passion and skill alignment”
At the event were secondary school students from Ajayi Crowther University Staff School.
Present at the event was the HOD of biological sciences Ajayi Crowther University Dr (Mrs) Afolakemi Olanbiwoninu, Dean of Students Affairs Ajayi Crowther University, Dr Roland Isibor, Dr Olayinka, Assistant Chaplain Ajayi Crowther University, Mr Oluremi Oladipupo of English Dept, the university’s entrepreneurship development officer, Peter Oiku; the university’s students’ assembly president, Chidiebere Udumukwu, among others.
Awards of recognition were presented by the Convener, Ogunjide John to the speakers courtesy of Cornerstone International Foundation.
The conference which was broadcast live on Crowther FM 88.5 and streamed live on Facebook was value packed as the speakers left the participants in awe.
