Share

The ECOSOC Youth Forum in New York provided a platform for young people to discuss their role in advancing sustainable development goals. Among the notable events was the International Trade Centre’s side event, “Innovate and Lead: Skills for Youth to Drive Sustainable Change.”

Key figures including ECOSOC President Paula Narváez Ojeda and WIPO Director General Daren Tang emphasized youth empowerment, innovation, and sustainability.

A lively discussion ensued, featuring policymakers and youth representatives from Sierra Leone, Uganda, Nigeria, Colombia, and the Philippines. They shared insights on challenges, opportunities, and initiatives in their respective countries.

Miles Hodges, an American poet, delivered a captivating performance, highlighting the power of words in shaping realities and addressing societal issues. The session was visually captured by the Sketch Effect, adding a dynamic element to the event.

With a full house and engaged participants, the event underscored the importance of youth engagement in creating a more sustainable and inclusive future. Overall, it was a successful showcase of how youth can drive positive change globally.
