Hansen reveals why Nigerian Youths should delve into E-commerce Industry

E-entrepreneur Chairman - Mr Micheal Hansen

Share

The founder and chairman of E-entrepreneur (an NGO), Mr Michael Hansen, has urged Nigerian youths to find opportunities in the e-commerce sector and embrace innovation through digital economy to ensure financial independence and the economic growth of the country.

Mr Hansen made the call on Friday in Abuja, during a one-day training and flag-off of Abuja Biggest E-commerce Revolution.

Hansen noted that e-commerce was the buying and selling of goods and services or the transmission of funds or data via an electronic network, primarily via the internet.

According to him, developments in the area of new online business-to-consumer(B2C) venture creation has been accompanied by varying degrees of success and also recognised that online venture creation does not materialise overnight.

He revealed that the one-day training in Abuja hinges on the vital entrepreneurial requirements for conceptualisation and the integration of the physical and virtual business within the global digital system development.

He added, however, that the training would provide the youths with innovative ideas and technical skills for improved livelihoods and productivity towards reducing poverty and unemployment in the country.

The Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, Villads Veds-Hansen explained that e-commerce was powered by the internet, a platform where customers access an online store to browse and place orders for products or services via their own devices.

He said the training became necessary following the observed demand for sustainable interventions in quality skills on digital economic development for self-reliance and gainful networking.

According to him, developing an e-business often involves an evolutionary cycle that starts with basic Internet technology experiments and evolves customer propositions into the construction of a financially viable online presence.

He said that business transactions take place through networking channels that are either business-to-business, business-to-consumer, consumer-to-consumer, or consumer-to-business.

The CEO detailed how supporting a wide range of digital entrepreneurs through e-commerce and providing professional skill support were necessary for development in order to meet its specific objectives.
