A significant collaboration of MSME partners is set to roll out extensive interventions targeting over 1.3 million entrepreneurs across 17 States and the Federal Capital Territory.
Coordinated by the MSME and Job Creation Unit of the Vice President’s Office, this initiative aligns with the government’s drive for economic improvement and increased job opportunities.
The interventions aim to bolster economic diversification efforts, placing MSMEs at the forefront of this transformative drive.
These interventions include shared centers equipped with 300kva Solar Panels and mini-grids, offering six Fashion Hubs two Furniture Clusters, and eight hours of daily electricity.
Additional support will be extended to car painting/drying hubs and cold rooms for seafood storage, among other initiatives.
Under Vice President Kashim Shettima’s directive, five of these interventions are slated for completion by December 2023, with an additional 12 set to be finalized by December 2024.
The targeted states encompass Abia, Rivers, Jigawa, Benue, Borno, Lagos, Ekiti, Niger, Sokoto, Enugu, Gombe, Akwa Ibom, Yobe, Ondo, Osun, Bayelsa, Imo, and the Federal Capital Territory.
This ambitious undertaking is made possible through collaborative efforts with key MSME partners including SMEDAN, CAC, ITF, NAFDAC, SON, BOI, NEXIM, DBN, NEPC, BOA, RMRDC, NITDA, and FIRS.
This unified initiative is poised to make a substantial impact on the MSME landscape, bolstering economic growth and job creation in Nigeria.
