The AU-EU Youth Voices Lab, part of the AU-EU Youth Lab programme, is making significant progress toward co-creating a more inclusive and youth-responsive society in Africa and Europe. Over the last few months, on-site training activities and networking events have been held. Also, the Youth Voices Third-Party-Funding Mechanism, our grant scheme that financially supports youth-led initiatives, has received dozens of applications. The applications are now closed, and the responsible team is currently reviewing the dozens of applications received. The successful applicants will be contacted and revealed soon.
Meanwhile, the Youth Advisory Board (YAB), our consulting body consisting of young representatives across our focus countries, has been selected and onboarded. The YAB members received training to become fully aware of the programme, its opportunities, procedures, and their respective roles. The YAB members will now actively monitor the partners’ work within the programme’s framework and advise on youth-friendly practices to ensure that all actions correspond to the current real needs of Youth.
AU-EU Youth Voices Lab App: A digital hub for youth empowerment
Set to launch soon, the AU-EU Youth Voices Lab App is envisioned as a virtual mirror of the collective, co-created with input from 10,000 young individuals across Africa and Europe. This inclusive digital platform will offer free access to resources, including training modules, co-creating features for the app, and networking opportunities. Designed for maximum accessibility, the app will support multiple languages and will be optimized for low data usage, ensuring broad reach and engagement. For this App, young people in Africa and Europe are currently asked to share their needs and preferences. That way, youth actively co-create the app. To do so yourself, you can follow this link: https://bio.aueuyouthvoiceslab.eu/3Yhddsm
“Let’s Connect”: A unique networking opportunity
We are building a wide, cross-continental network of youth-led groups, panels, coalitions, and organizations operating across Africa and Europe. Representatives of such groups are invited to complete a brief survey to share information about their organization, which helps map and connect youth-led efforts across the continents. If you are interested in joining this network, you can complete the survey here: https://bio.aueuyouthvoiceslab.eu/3E6KD5Y
To ensure inclusion and break down language barriers, the survey is also available in French here: https://bio.aueuyouthvoiceslab.eu/3FOrfLt
We keep helping young people in Africa and Europe to Engage, Empower, and Connect!
