Women in Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) has announced a collaboration with CIG Motors, the manufacturer of GAC motors, and the Diana Chen Foundation to promote inclusiveness in management positions and provide training opportunities for women. This partnership aims to showcase the full potential of women, contribute to nation-building, and create employment opportunities.

During a visit to the CIG Motors headquarters in Lagos, WIMBIZ’s new Executive Director, Omowunmi Akingbohoungbe, emphasized the organization’s commitment to advocating for women and creating platforms that elevate their status in business, corporate organizations, and public service. The goal is to achieve balanced gender inclusiveness with support from partners across the nation.

Hansatu Adegbite, the former Executive Director of WIMBIZ, highlighted the importance of partnerships and collaborations for the organization’s growth. She noted that the progress seen in the CIG brand and the Diana Chen Foundation, both led by a woman, aligns with WIMBIZ’s vision.

Chief Diana Chen, CEO of CIG Motors, praised WIMBIZ for its outstanding leadership and management programs that promote women’s inclusiveness. She shared that CIG Motors employs women in various sections of its operations, which aligns with WIMBIZ’s mission to have women in management roles. The CIG group and the Diana Chen Foundation are offering a year-and-a-half training opportunity for 20 male and female students from Yaba College of Technology in automation and other fields, with job placements available upon their return to Nigeria.

Bisi Adeyemi, WIMBIZ BoT chairman, expressed optimism about the future of the partnership, noting that the female-led auto firm and Foundation align with WIMBIZ’s efforts to inspire and empower women. She emphasized that this collaboration will enhance training opportunities for female entrepreneurs within WIMBIZ, providing role models like Chief Diana Chen for them to look up to.
